About

The Arctic Rider

The Arctic Rider is an ongoing project of charity motorbike challenges by fundraiser Gordon Stuart.

“It started in 2011 as a charity ride to the Arctic Circle that didn’t really go to plan, and has become a near obsession with the Arctic, an obsession with riding a motorbike, and an obsession helping organisations who help others” - Traverse Magazine, November 2017

The Arctic Rider is an ongoing project of charity motorbike challenges by fundraiser Gordon Stuart. Gordon combines his passion for motorbikes to help raise money and awareness for charities close to his heart.

Gordon on his departure to the Arctic - May 2014

In 2011, he crashed his motorbike in Sweden en route to the Arctic, raising £1,300 for Cerebra.

In 2014, Gordon rode 6,000 miles solo to Nordkapp in the Arctic Circle, raising over £5,000 for Cerebra.

In 2016, he completed the UK ‘Iron Butt challenge’, riding the length of the UK from Lands End to John O’Groats in 18 hours raising over £1,800 for Tiny Lives Trust.

In 2018, Gordon crossed the Arctic Circle in Iceland, raising over £5,000 for Tiny Lives and Cerebra.

In 2021, Gordon rode the Scotland 4 corners challenge, riding between the 4 compass points of Scotland (800miles with less than 50 miles of motorway), in 23 hours and 20 minutes, raising over £1,400 for Tiny Lives.

In 2022, Gordon crossed the Arctic Circle in Alaska, raising over £4,200 for National Autistic Society.

Gordon has a personal ambition to cross The Arctic Circle in every country possible by motorbike.

Gordon is an Ambassador UK-brain injury charity Cerebra and global youth leader forum One Young World, and fundraiser for special care babies charity Tiny Lives. He is keen motorcyclist, writer, and film maker.

Gordon combines his passion for motorbikes to help raise money and awareness for charities close to his heart (check out 'The Charities Page' for more info). This is done through setting himself motorbike related challenges and gaining sponsorship donations for completing them which go straight to the charity. Gordon uses social media including Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube, as well as corporate sponsors to help raise the profile of his challenges.

"The Arctic Rider is all about a burning sense to do what is right, adventure, community, and raising a shed-load of cash for charity. Yes my challenges cost money to do, and sure I do enjoy them, but being able to combine my passion for motorbikes with raising money for charity its win win for me. My social media work and networking ensure that my adventures raise far more money than they cost (which is all funded by me or my corporate sponsors) meaning every penny donated goes to my charities" - Gordon Stuart
