A week of sun and fun :)

Hi all,

Welcome again to my blog. If you are a new (or new'ish) visitor, be sure to check out the other parts of my site including 'What is Arctic Ride 2014', 'The Route', and 'Merchandise' along the top banner.

Things in the Arctic Ride space are starting to come together and I've been getting busier and busier having meeting and putting a lot of time and effort into making this trip as success and this week has been no different.

On Tuesday afternoon I had the pleasure of finishing work early (no, my employers weren't being kind but I started early to finish early) and it was a pleasure not only because it was 24 degrees and perfect biking weather but I was off to visit Jon and Phil at MPH Studios in Gateshead. I linked up with MPH Studios on Twitter and they very kindly invited me in to their office for a chat about how they can help with my trip as they were really interested in what I am doing. As hopefully you know by now I am videoing my entire trip to the Arctic Circle with the aim of producing it into a full film to help raise further funds for brain injury charity Cerebra. My meeting with MPH Studios was around how they could assist in this aspect of my trip. We are still in discussion at the moment but watch this space for more information soon.

In other news this week I put out a request for help to all my readers and follows. Please check out my blog post on this for more information by clicking on THIS LINK. <---------------- :D

On Saturday, I treated the wife by taking her to the Triumph open day in Newcastle (yes I am that kind). ha ha I met my buddy, Andrew from REALRIDER :) and had a good chat about how he is getting on and what he is going to be up to in the next few months. If you are attending any bike shows and he or is team is there, go and chat to him, he's really canny and they have a great app to help all bikers, especially when travelling alone. You can also follow them on twitter @realrider2011 :)

It was nice to see lots of bikers turn out and look at their bikes :)

It doesn't look like there was many there from my photos but trust me, they were just hiding when I took that photo!

I also had a good look around the showroom and taught Kirsty all about Triumphs and why they look so cool. :)

It would definitely be nice to have a Rocket 3 in the garage one day, very spangly!

Sunday (Today, if you are reading it today) saw another hot day up in Newcastle and a trip out with my little bro, Robbie, mum, the wife Kirsty and my cousin Caitlin. We went to the Tynemouth Fire station Open Day. They do it every year and its great fun. All the emergency services are there and you can see demonstrations and play in all the vehicles. :) Robbie loves going because a lot of our family are in the emergency services, with particular mention to my gramps who was chief of Tyne and Wear Fire Brigade and  a real hero of mine. :)

I know that a lot of people have enjoyed the videos of Robbie so here's one of him today, looking cool :)

We also watched a few demos, one of what happens when u put water on a chip pan..

and also a demo of the Fire Brigade rescuing a volunteer out of a car using the jaws of life (if any of you watch Fireman Sam, you will know what those look like!)

So as well as the fire engines, like I said there was also a police van. Robbie and I got in the back to see what it would be like if we got arrested! Luckily the police officers let us go! phew!!

This is a pic of Robbie and I with  Dennis Fire Engine :)

Then Kirsty decided to try her hand at being a Fire Lady and model her pink helmet courtesy of the Fire Service Charity :)

Was a great week this week in the world of Arctic Ride and have been taking full advantage of the sun this weekend! Hope you enjoyed all the pics too for this blog! Don't forget to link on the link and help me out with my request.. ;)

Until next blog.. Ride Safe

Gordon
